Chrisanthidis Kourabie Bites

For Chrisanthidis, a traditional confectionery brand in Kavala, Greece, we created the packaging design for the new Kourabie Bites range. Our goal was to reposition the kourabie, a sweet traditionally associated with Christmas, as an all-year-round premium delight that could be enjoyed on any occasion.

The new identity elevates the product from a seasonal treat into an artisanal bite-sized indulgence that appeals to a wider, international audience.

Brief

Chrisanthidis wanted to expand beyond local tradition and transform the kourabie into a gift-worthy delicacy for both domestic and global markets.

The brief called for packaging that feels exclusive, modern, and elegant, while also retaining the authenticity of Greek craftsmanship.

The target audience was women and travelers, with a strong focus on duty-free retail and gifting occasions.

Challenge

The challenge was to break away from the traditional festive image of kourabie and reinterpret it in a way that would feel relevant, premium, and desirable year-round.

We needed to create packaging that could compete in the international premium market alongside products like French macarons, while still reflecting the unique Greek identity of the sweet.

Another challenge was to develop a flexible design system that works across flavor variations and appeals strongly in gifting environments such as airports and duty-free stores.

Results

The final design uses sophisticated pastel color coding to differentiate flavors and create a chic, artisanal look.

Clean typography, minimal layouts, and carefully curated photography elevate the product into the premium gifting space.

The new packaging successfully repositioned Chrisanthidis as a brand capable of turning tradition into a modern lifestyle delight.

The Kourabie Bites quickly stood out on shelves, particularly in airport duty-free stores, where travelers embraced them as the perfect Greek gift to take home.
