Kakias Branding Packaging

Brief

Kakias, one of Greece’s largest cheese and feta producers, has long been a trusted supplier in the private label sector.

For the first time, the brand wanted to launch its own retail product series under the Kakias name, creating a distinctive identity for consumers in Greece and abroad.

Our role was to design a packaging system that reflects the brand’s tradition and expertise while making the products stand out on the shelves.

Challenge

The project involved developing two distinct product ranges, each requiring its own design language while still fitting within the Kakias brand identity:

Mont Parnes Range: premium graviera cheese in three gourmet flavors (4 peppers, black truffle, chili).

Galari Range: a grilling cheese made from sheep’s and goat’s milk, available in classic, smoked, and light varieties.

The challenge was to create packaging that communicates authenticity and quality while appealing to both local and international consumers.

Each range needed a unique visual style, Mont Parnes leaning towards a sophisticated, premium look, and Galari focusing on freshness, modernity, and grilling enjoyment.

Results

We created a strong, versatile brand presence for Kakias, with two complementary packaging systems:

  1. Mont Parnes Graviera: A refined black-and-gold design with flavor cues highlighted by bold ingredient imagery (peppers, truffle, chili), signaling gourmet quality.
  2. Galari Cheese for Grilling: Bright, approachable, and energetic packaging, emphasizing versatility and healthy indulgence, with clear product benefits (light, smoked, or classic).

The result was a cohesive yet flexible design system that elevated Kakias from a private-label supplier to a brand with a strong consumer-facing identity.

These product ranges not only stand out on the shelf but also support the brand’s positioning as a leading Greek cheese producer ready for the international market.
